Hillcroft’s outdoor adventure program features the challenges of a ropes course, the excitement of our tower for climbing and rappelling, and a popular obstacle course which includes the zip line. Meeting the growing interest of outdoor education, our Outdoor Adventure staff dedicates the time for initiative games to enhance self-confidence and encourage teamwork. Groups of children-3rd grade and older are offered an overnight experience where they can enjoy cookouts, marshmallow roasts, swimming and games.
Our instructors are certified to teach the course with safety always in mind.
Our Climbing Program features a 3 sided 40 ft tower with walls of varying difficulties. Our beginner wall is perfect for our younger campers and then our intermediate wall is ideal for all ages of experienced climbers. Our Vertical Playground makes up the 3rd side of our tower and provides a challenging yet exciting element. All our instructors are experienced in belaying and safety is of course our number one priority.
While visiting our farm, campers learn how to cultivate vegetables and how to care for sheep and goats. Campers grow tomatoes, squash, beans, broccoli, radishes and other produce which they taste test. Somehow, broccoli tastes better outside surrounded by a beautiful garden.
In recent years we added a high ropes course with elements such as Burma Bridge, Leap of Faith and wire walk bridge. One of our ever popular zip lines runs from the top of the 40 ft tower giving campers a wonderful adrenalin filled ride down and into the woods.
At our Nature/Ecology Area, campers explore the environment around them while learning an appreciation for the natural world. Campers examine the cycles that occur in weather, within the animal kingdom and on the earth’s surface. Another favorite activity here is helping to care for turkeys, ducks, chickens and small reptiles.
Project Adventure and Outdoor Skills activities encompass activities such as Team Building, Group Games, Fire building, shelter making and obstacle course fun!
